Go-KIT, Bug-Out-Bag, 72 hour kit, Disaster Kit, emergency kit, survival kit.. Call it what you want, but having your basic needs covered in the event of a short term or log term emergency should be step one.
I can come up with some VERY comprehensive kits for your, But there are just a few basic needs that need to be covered. So before you click on the next item 72 hour kit.. I want to show you just how simple a kit can be.
2 bottles of water.
1 pocket knife or multi-tool
1 solar blanket
1 first aid kit, bandage and gauze, disinfectant.
6 HIGH QUALITY energy bars.
1 storm whistle
1 lighter and 1 tube of water proof matches.
100ft nylon cord
That’s it, that’s the most basic kit I can come up with
In it we have covered, clean water, food, simple shelter, first aid and communication with some basic MacGyver like skills this can take care of you for a few days in descent weather if you conserve the food and water.
Now do I think this is the best kit in the world, no of course not. BUT its simple and easy to carry around in a low impact container.
